Checking In Again...

Hello, everyone!

Just wanted to check in. I haven't visited this blog in about 6 months! Crazy how time flies!!

Anyways, I had someone ask about any news concerning the continuation of the Ai no Kusabi remake, and unfortunately at the present moment, there appears to be no intention of making new episodes due to funding problems.

Originally, the series was meant to air in 2009, but everyone knows how that went. I had thought they were going to cancel the series remake altogether due to their troubles with funding. However, they managed to finally air the first 4 episodes of the intended 13-episode remake in 2011. The down side was that there was no more money to go to the other 9 episodes, so unless the first 4 episodes make serious bank, there's no hope for the continuation of the series. And now that we're on the downward slope of 2013, I can definitely say that there is most likely no chance for the rest of the series to premiere, so we might as well give up hope there. I think the reason I was most looking forward to the new series was so that there was a chance of a different ending than the one in the original 2 OVAs that came out in the '90s!! While it's okay to cry once in a while over tragic love stories like this, and it was a very fitting and poetic ending, it's almost too sad to watch. I never fail to cry at the end of OVA2. We need happier endings!! Guy, you dumb fuck!! There. That basically says it all.

Anyways, I wanted to thank everyone who has visited this blog and that interest in this series has most certainly not died even after 10-20 years. Much love!!!

It's been a while, and I decided to check the link again for that mediafire file, and it doesn't seem to be working right. Luckily, there is another source of Taming Riki on the Freedom of Speech fanfiction archive, possibly at the time uploaded by Kira Takenouchi herself. So if the link is not working anymore, with a quick easy search from Google or redirected from here, here's the link to the site:

Also, to those of you who don't know about Aarinfantasy, they are a free English subbing website for Japanese yaoi anime. I was really excited and pleased with the revamp of Ai no Kusabi series, so if any of you are having trouble finding a relatively good streaming source, I'll provide the links here. All it takes to access it is to sign up, which is free and easy.

Welcome to Taming Riki! =^^=

Now, if you're a fan of Ai no Kusabi, you'll have eventually at some point run into Kira Takenouchi's Taming Riki series, right? Her website had a restricted section for her fanfiction Taming Riki among her other original works. If you've ever read fanfiction before, you'll notice that most authors will put disclaimers saying that they don't own the work, and therefore, don't profit from it, though it's generally a given. While Kira Takenouchi would give credit of the story to the original writer Rieko Yoshihara, it was still a work of fanfiction, and it's my personal belief that she is illegally charging for something that most would post up for free.

Kira is notorious to the people who keep up with her works for her dramatic personal issues that interfere with her postings, famously appearing and disappearing from the internet, which she has again done. So, until she reappears at some point, I will happily share the awesomeness that is Taming Riki Volume 1.

Here's an Adobe format for this story downloaded from the original site a few years ago. (it has 16MB), [NO LONGER WORKING!! BROKEN LINK!! READ NEW POST!!]

The format has a few pictures to go with it from the original 2 OVA series of Ai no Kusabi and the original Japanese radio drama Dark Erogenous.

Enjoy!!!

[Disclaimer and Warning: The Taming Riki series was written by Kira Takenouchi, who based this series off of Ai no Kusabi written by Rieko Yoshihara. This is yaoi, meaning male/male relationships, and contains explicit sexual content and BDSM elements.]
